Care

In-home help for seniors and elderly parents

When everyday chores start to pile up, a few hours of reliable help each week can make staying at home easier. Tell us what you or your parent needs. Our team reviews your request personally and sends a proposal with the scope and the price.

What in-home help can cover

Typical tasks you can select in your request and talk through with us:

  • Tidying up and light housekeeping
  • Laundry — washing, drying and folding
  • Planning and cooking meals together
  • Grocery shopping, the post office and other errands
  • Company during a meal or a short walk

What needs a separate conversation — or isn’t offered

  • Personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, help with eating or transfers is not currently offered. A discussion does not extend our service scope.
  • No medical or nursing services.
  • No overnight, 24-hour or live-in care.
  • No Medicare, Medicaid or long-term care insurance billing.

What we don’t offer

How we find the right help

In your request, choose the tasks, how often you’d like help and your preferred times. Language and driving preferences are optional but help us look for the right match.

A team member reviews your details and contacts you the way you chose. Practical questions — like access to the home or fixed weekdays — we sort out together.

The help itself is provided by local partners. We check availability for your ZIP code, and if we can’t help where you live, we’ll tell you plainly.

What happens next

  1. Your request appears in your account right away.
  2. Our team reviews it and contacts you the way you prefer.
  3. You get a proposal with scope and price — and decide in your own time.

What in-home help costs

We don’t publish hourly rates. The price depends on the tasks, how often and how long someone comes, where you live and whether driving is involved. You’ll see it in your proposal before you decide — sending a request is free.

About payment: we don’t bill Medicare, Medicaid or long-term care insurance. Help arranged through GMedAC Care is private pay.

What affects the price

Frequently asked questions

Does Medicare pay for this kind of help?

Generally not: Medicare doesn’t cover homemaker services like shopping, cleaning and laundry when that is the only help someone needs (medicare.gov). We don’t bill Medicare, Medicaid or long-term care insurance; help arranged through GMedAC Care is private pay.

Are there free or low-cost options?

Sometimes. Your local Area Agency on Aging may offer homemaker, meal or ride programs, and the Eldercare Locator (eldercare.acl.gov) can point you to it. We’re a private service and fine with being one option among several.

How often can someone come?

You decide: one visit, weekly, several times a week or daily, a few hours each time. We’ll confirm whether that schedule works where you live.

Can I arrange help for a parent who lives in another state?

Yes. Choose “For someone else” and enter your parent’s ZIP code. You stay the contact person; your parent doesn’t need an account, and we don’t need their name or health information for the request.

How is this different from home health care?

Home health agencies provide skilled nursing or therapy, usually ordered by a doctor and often billed to Medicare. We arrange non-medical everyday help — housekeeping, meals, errands and company — paid privately.

It’s free, and you’re not committing to anything.
