Care

Companion care for seniors at home

Sometimes what’s missing most is someone with time — for a chat, a walk or a cup of coffee. We arrange regular companionship for a few hours at a time, for you or for a family member who lives alone.

What companion care includes

Things you can ask for in your request:

  • Conversation, reading aloud and card or board games
  • Walks and short outings nearby
  • Cooking or sharing a meal together
  • Company at social events, appointments or visits
  • Regular visits that give family caregivers a break

Companion care is not personal care

  • Bathing, dressing, toileting, help with eating or transfers are not part of our current offer.
  • Specialist dementia care is not currently offered.
  • No overnight, 24-hour or live-in care.
  • No medical or nursing services.

What we don’t offer

From request to regular visits

Tell us what your loved one enjoys and which times work for visits. Select “Companionship” and, if you like, “Accompanied outings.”

We’ll talk through how often and how long visits should be and which language matters. If a regular companion is important to you, say so — we’ll check whether that’s possible.

Visits are provided by a local partner. You’ll know who it is before you accept anything.

What happens next

  1. Your request appears in your account right away.
  2. Our team reviews it and contacts you the way you prefer.
  3. You get a proposal with scope and price — and decide in your own time.

What companion care costs

The price mainly depends on how often and how long visits are, where you live and whether outings or driving are involved. We don’t publish an hourly rate; you’ll get a specific price in your proposal.

About payment: we don’t bill Medicare, Medicaid or long-term care insurance. Help arranged through GMedAC Care is private pay.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between companion care and home care?

Companion care is about company and everyday activities. Home care often includes personal care such as bathing and dressing, which we do not currently offer.

Can the same companion come every time?

For regular visits that often makes sense. We’ll check whether it’s possible where you live before sending a proposal, and tell you honestly.

How soon can visits start?

That depends on availability where you live. We don’t promise a fixed time frame; you can follow your request’s status in your account.

It’s free, and you’re not committing to anything.
